A Call of Duty MMO

Since Activision merged with Blizzard many speculated that the two would join their development teams to create a Call of Duty MMO. Imagine the experience of Activision on FPS (CoD) and the experience of Blizzard on MMO (WoW) as one.

That rumor is half true and half false, Zarhym posted that the Next Gen MMO will be a brand new IP created from scratch by Blizzard. But, words from Bobby Kotick about monetizing MMOs in relation to Call of Duty make the case open for the future. So CoD MMO is a possibility in the future but it's not related to the "Next-Gen MMO" currently developed by Blizzard.

Sci Fi setting

The idea of the MMO having a Science Fiction setting, started through a job listing from Blizzard.

Blizzard's next MMO announcement on BlizzCon 2010

While BlizzCon 2010 is officially announced, there are no clear clues but only rumors and speculations^[2] about Blizzard having an announcement for the Next Gen MMO. BlizzPlanet suggests that on this year's BlizzCon they may be such announcement to fight with the media craze on other major upcoming MMOs such as SWTOR.
