In-Game Ads
A recent Job listing in Blizzard's career page, under the "Next-Gen MMO" section, titled "Franchise Development Producer" is looking for an employee who among others will

Work with major consumer brands to facilitate product placement and licensing within the world of Blizzard Entertainment's next-gen MMO that enhances the gameplay experience."
This listing, combined with the fact that "Titan" will be a Sci-Fi setting, whether that is today or a near future date, makes it highly possible and easy to embed real-life adds in its world. In-Game Adds is speculated to reduce some or all the subscription cost for the players with the option to pay the standard subscription fee in order to remove those ads.
Time Travel
Mostly Based on the following quote of Blizzard's Lead Game Designer, Jeffrey Kaplan who is now known to work on "Project Titan"
Jeff Kaplan's quote: (Source)
-So is Blizzard's new MMO going to be sci-fi, near-future, post-apocalyptic or historical?
-"All of those combined!" he said, laughing.
the belief that Time travel within the game itself will be possible is increasingly growing. Another clue on this matter is the fact that World of Warcraft uses time travel on some occasions (see: Caverns of Time in the past and the most recent examples on Patch 4.3, End Time and Well of Eternity). So since it is proven that Blizzard likes the idea of time travel why not make it a core aspect of the game? Remember, Titan will be targeting a broader audience.
A Call of Duty MMO
Since Activision merged with Blizzard many speculated that the two would join their development teams to create a Call of Duty MMO. Imagine the experience of Activision on FPS (CoD) and the experience of Blizzard on MMO (WoW) as one.
That rumor is half true and half false, Zarhym posted that the Next Gen MMO will be a brand new IP created from scratch by Blizzard. But, words from Bobby Kotick about monetizing MMOs in relation to Call of Duty make the case open for the future. So CoD MMO is a possibility in the future but it's not related to the "Next-Gen MMO" currently developed by Blizzard.
Sci Fi setting
The idea of the MMO having a Science Fiction setting, started through a job listing from Blizzard.
Blizzard's quote:
2+ years game development experience modeling and texturing sci-fi and fantasy character armor and weapons for next-gen art pipelines
But, it gained popularity when a French gaming site[1] reported that apart from being a Sci-Fi MMO, it will be a shooter game (FPS). (Quote generated from Google Translate)
Announcement on BlizzCon 2010
While BlizzCon 2010 is officially announced, there are no clear clues but only rumors and speculations[2] about Blizzard having an announcement for the Next Gen MMO. BlizzPlanet suggests that on this year's BlizzCon they may be such announcement to fight with the media craze on other major upcoming MMOs such as SWTOR.
Unfortunately, Rob Pardo said on a interview on BlizzCon 2010, that there won't be an announcement for more or less another year.
